One thing always leads to another in life. For vintner and whiskey maker, Mark Carter, this is no exception. Mark began making wine in 1998 after falling in love with the Napa Valley wine country while collecting wines for his grand award wine list at his Restaurant 301 at the Hotel Carter, on the Redwood Coast of California. The Carter Cellars portfolio focuses on world-famous Napa Valley vineyards such as the famed Beckstoffer To Kalon, Las Piedras, Missouri Hopper, Bourn, as well as Weitz, Fortuna and Hossfeld. All of the wines are made at Envy Wines, the Estate Winery located in Calistoga, at the north end of the Napa Valley. Each wine is crafted with exquisite attention to detail from vine to bottle. The focus is on perfectly balanced wines showcasing both ripeness and barrel integration seamlessly blended to produce wines that delight the senses. This approach has produced results that Mark Carter is very proud of; specifically, over ten perfectly scored 100 point wines from critics such as Jeb Dunnuck, Lisa Perotti-Brown and Robert Parker.
