Scott Wilkes

Scott Wilkes Lux Wines

Scott became captivated by wine after one truly eye-opening dinner with close college friends in Jackson Hole in the late 90’s. From there he began his passion-turned-career at one of Richmond, Virginia’s oldest fine wine shops, while in grad school pursuing a degree in education. He quickly moved into the importer and wholesale world and held various sales and executive roles in Virginia, Florida, Chicago and Washington DC.

Along the way, Scott traveled extensively to California, Argentina, and his favorite wine producing countries in the old world. Embedding these experiences with his love of learning, he earned his Specialist certifications of both wine and spirits with the Society of Wine Educators, and also achieved the 3rd Level Award with the Wine & Spirits Education Trust. He joined Maze Row Wine Merchants in 2020, working directly with a highly revered portfolio of distinctive European and new world wines, managing sales, and executing trade and consumer/collector educational events.

Scott has a great passion for celebrating unique wine, telling the stories of benchmark producers, and exploring the rich history of the places where great wine is made.

Scott currently lives in Richmond, VA with his wife and children. When he’s not enjoying and sharing wine, he can be found in relentless pursuit of good film, books, classic record albums, and anything the speaks to both his intellect and his soul.
