Somnium

Ryan Maloney grew up in St. Helena, Ca, in the heart of the Napa Valley, so his childhood was spent running through vineyards, and his earliest jobs growing up were working in wine cellars and tasting rooms.  Upon graduating from San Diego State University in 20003, he realized that his heart was in wine, and that was the career path that he was going to pursue.  Ryan took a harvest intern position at Staglin Family Vineyard in Rutherford for the 2004 harvest, working as a part of the winemaking team through the end of the year and absorbing all of the knowledge that he could.  He then helped open a wine shop and wine bar in San Diego County, where he worked as a wine buyer.  After that, he moved on to the distribution side of the wine business by accepting a job with Kimberly Jones Selections, a premier wine broker and distributor, where he would spend 13 years in wine sales and brand management.  In 2018, Ryan began his own consulting company, Cantine Wine Consulting, providing national sales management for boutique, ultra premium wine brands.  Ryan has proudly managed national sales for Somnium for the past 3 years.  As Somnium's National Sales Manager, Ryan loves sharing the Somnium wines and story with people throughout the country.  Ryan holds a WSET level III certification, which he passed with distinction.
