DCWAF brings Doug Frost, world-renowned Master of Wine & Master Sommelier to the Hilton on March 5

Rieger 2The Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation (DCWAF) is excited to announce a new educational wine event presented by Master of Wine and Master Sommelier Doug Frost. Wine enthusiasts are invited to join one of the world's most preeminent wine experts for an interactive and intimate tasting seminar hosted at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort on Thursday, March 5 from 4-6pm.

Doug Frost is a Kansas City author who writes and lectures about wine, beer, and spirits. In 1991 he passed the rigorous Master Sommelier examination and two years later became America’s eighth Master of Wine. Doug is the second person in history to complete both exams, and more than a quarter century later, he is still one of only four people in the world to have achieved both of these remarkable distinctions.

Doug will lead attendees through a tasting survey of eight Italian wines from north to south, with some well-known names alongside new and upcoming estates, classic DOCs and DOCGs up against new areas and lesser known grapes.

“At DCWAF, our mission is to connect wine enthusiasts to raise money for children in need in Northwest Florida,” Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation President John Russell said. “This event is a great opportunity for wine lovers to learn from one of the most celebrated experts in the industry while giving back to those who need it most. We are pleased to welcome Doug to South Walton, and excited to continue to bring quality events and educational opportunities to our community.”

Tickets to Italy from Old to New hosted by Doug Frost, MW, MS on March 5 are $150 and are on sale now at dcwaf.org/tickets. Access to this wine education event is extremely limited, and tickets are expected to sell out.
