Helpful Bidding Strategies For Auction Weekend

KWV_9874

Dust off your paddles, our 18th Annual Destin Charity Wine Auction presented by the Jumonville Family is almost here! To help you prepare to bid high and bid often, we put together a list of bidding strategies for the big weekend under the tent.

Plan Your Travel Groups

Pre-plan your travel groups before the bidding begins as many of our lots include experiences for groups of 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10. We recommend opening a few bottles of your favorite wine with your travel companions and planning which lots you'd like to bid on together.

Choose Your Favorite Lots

Stay ahead of the game and figure out which lots are your favorite before the big weekend. If someone outbids you, no sweat, you will be prepared to bid on the next item on your wish list.

Set Your Max Bid

Through GiveSmart, you have the ability to set a maximum bid amount for the items you are interested in. This will allow the platform to bid on your behalf until you either win or max out your budget. If your bid is lower than the highest max bid on a particular package, you will be prompted to enter a higher bid. If you are outbid at any point before the auction closes, you will receive a text message.

Buy It Now

Find something you simply must have? You have the options to 'Buy It Now' with any of our silent, super silent, and cellar lots for a predetermined price.

Instant Items

There is a small selection of lots that include seats to intimate wine experiences. Should you wish to secure your seats at one of these events, you may contact [email protected] before the auction opens and a member of our staff will be happy to handle this for you in advance of the auction weekend.

Plan Your Budget

It’s okay to have your heart set on many different lots! Go in with a budget in mind so that way if things get competitive you have a plan for which lots you want to bid on based on your budget.

Keep An Eye On the Silent Lots

This year we have more than 120 Silent Lots and 32 Super Silent Lots! With all the excitement between the flowing wine, delicious food, and celebration, it is easy for time to slip by and have someone out-bid you on something you hope to win. We suggest using the max bid feature so you can set it and forget it while enjoying the weekend’s in-person festivities.

Keep Checking Our Website

We are updating our website daily with new links, videos, and virtual tours of each lot, so be sure to check those out to see what lots peak your interest!

Make Sure to Register

While all live lots must be bid on in-person at the event, all cellar, silent, and super silent lots will be available virtually beginning Friday, April 28 at 9am central time until Sunday, April 30 at noon. To register, visit https://DCWAF23.givesmart.com

Remember to bid high and bid often! Every dollar you spend counts towards improving the lives of youth in need of health care, counseling, food, shelter, and education. Our 16 benefiting children charities are all local, reaching children in need in our communities.
