Auction Tip # 9, Check out the live art installations

Thomas Arvid and Justin Gaffrey, two exceptionally talented artists, will have art available at the auction this year. Gaffrey and Arvid will be painting live and both be apart of the live auction!

 

 

Justin Gaffrey "Curates for a Cause." 

Justin, one of our local artists will create a one of kind piece LIVE at Saturday’s Reserve Tasting & Walkabout. Immediately following, this original work of art will be auctioned off, on stage, at our Live Auction. Working now exclusively with pure acrylic paints (no fillers are used) and using mostly the palette knife, he produces works of breathtaking beauty and complexity. His technique might best be described as “sculpting with paint.” While the subject matter is varied, his works are all reflections of the beauty he finds in the natural world that surrounds him daily along Highway 30-A. We love having Justin creating a live piece at the Reserve Tasting because it is truly fascinating to watch his masterpieces unfold.

About the Artist. Thomas Arvid continues to astonish both art and wine enthusiasts with his monumental compositions that capture the delicate beauty of wine and the evocative pleasure of its consumption. Achieving widespread success with his iconic portrayals of the wine experience, Arvid has become synonymous with the art of living graciously. Arvid recently completed his first museum exhibition and has been featured in USA Today, LA Times, Wine Spectator, and named “one of 50 artists you should know” by US Art Magazine.

About the Wine. Like so many Americans, Steve and Linda Sherwin took a pledge to never forget the terrorist attacks that took place on September 11, 2001. To honor the victims and survivors of 9/11, the Sherwins decided to make a truly special magnum with a striking hand-etched, hand-painted design featuring the American flag with the meaningful words “In God We Trust” and “United We Stand.” The back of the bottle also states that it was proudly created “in remembrance of those lost September 11, 2001.” This bottle contains only the best Estate Cabernet Sherwin Family Vineyards produces.
