For the first time, our live auction will include a selection of flash lots, sold in rapid-fire fashion. The auctioneer will start the bidding high and go down. The first bidder to raise his or her paddle will win the lot. However, if two bidders raise their paddles at the same time, then the bidding will go up. Think of this as a "Buy It Now."

MENDOZA MAGNIFICENCE

Ambrosia de Gualtallary was described by Robert Parker as a new name to follow in Argentina as they rated Ambrosia’s 2011 Precioso malbec at 93 points. Ambrosia’s vineyards have been hailed as one of the top 3 terroirs in all of Latin America. Ambrosia is nestled in the foothills of the breathtaking Andes mountains in Gualtallary, the premier spot for viticulture in Argentina. The high elevations, sandy limestone soils, warm days and cool nights combine to make wonderful red wines.

SCREAMING EAGLE 

Jean Phillips, a former real estate agent, bought the 57-acre Oakville vineyard in 1986, which was planted to mix of varieties, most of which Phillips sold to various Napa wineries, except one-acre, approximately 80 vines of Cabernet Sauvignon. For this one acre of Cabernet, Phillips sought the opinions of Robert Mondavi Winery employees on the commercial potential of her wine before hiring Richard Peterson as a consultant, and subsequently met Peterson's daughter, Heidi Peterson Barrett, who became Screaming Eagle's first winemaker. The entire vineyard was replanted in 1995, through a combination of very low production numbers and highly positive reviews (wine critic Robert Parker awarded the wine 99 points), which resulted in Screaming Eagle becoming one of the most celebrated and expensive wines in Napa Valley.

STAGLIN IMPERIAL  

This a truly special bottle, signed by Garen Stalin and in a rare 6L format!  

Garen and Shari were able to purchase this Rutherford Bench estate in 1985 after spending many years learning about wine together. Their longtime dream to farm a vineyard and produce wines of great quality was something they wanted to share with their family. To encourage active participation Brandon and Shannon were offered a small cash gift to invest in the vineyard. Today all members of the family work in day-to-day operations of the vineyard and winery. Shannon serves as President, Brandon as Director of Marketing Communications, Shari as Chief Executive Officer and Garen as the Public Relations Manager.

Where The Lightning Round is Taking Us... 

         

High Rollers in Low Places

Place your bets and prepare to take yourself and 5 of your luckiest friends to the high stakes table with Jane Solomon and Colin Mayo. Jane and Colin will chaperone a VIP day trip on their Pilatus to Biloxi Hard Rock Casino. Whether you have an affinity for rolling the dice or have mastered your poker face, the house always wins when you are living it up with Colin and Jane.

If you are all in for this trip, expect to leave ECP or Destin at 10am on the Pilatus with Jane, Colin, yourself and 5 guests for a Champagne ride to Biloxi Hard Rock Casino. Upon arriving, you will join the High Society and spend the day gambling followed by a late lunch at Ruth Chris Steakhouse. Your lunch will be held in a private room to debate your game strategy and boast your winnings over great wine selected from Jane’s private cellar. Once you are refueled you will have a second wind in the casino to double up. Around 7pm, after you win it big you’ll hit the plane to head home. The plane ride home will include dessert wine and a guaranteed fun time! It sure is nice to have friends in low places!
