Ladera Vineyards

For the first time since our inception we have a new primary winemaker, Jade Barrett. It is an exciting time here at Ladera as we now have a full time winemaker dedicated solely to us. He is committed to continuing the wine style we have developed over the years but likely with a few tweaks of his own.

Jade comes to Ladera from his original home in New Zealand, before finally settling in the Napa Valley in 2004.

He spent 2 years as assistant winemaker at Lewis Cellars followed by 6 years at Jericho Canyon before joining Ladera at the start of 2012.

This is a major change for Ladera as we have had only one other winemaker, Karen Culler, who steps back to be consulting winemaker so as to maintain continuity in style.

He enjoys spending time with family, getting into the vineyards and is an active rugby player.
