Jackson Family Wines

Our vineyards and wineries are first and foremost family-owned and operated. When Jess Jackson entered the wine business three decades ago, his goal was to create a family enterprise specializing in handmade wines of unmatched character.

Today, under the leadership of Chairman and Proprietor Barbara Banke, Jess’s wife of 25 years, members of the Jackson family hold key positions throughout our company. Family personnel include Jess and Barbara’s three children, Katie, Julia and Christopher Jackson, Jess’s two daughters, Jennifer Jackson Hartford and Laura Jackson Giron, Jennifer’s husband Don Hartford (our Chief Executive Officer), as well as other family members who work in other roles.

Attending the 2016 Auction is Trey, Christy, CMS, Advanced Sommelier and Regional Manager of Jackson Family Wines' Spire Collection.

A native of Houston, Texas, Trey Christy was initially trained as a classical violist, and learned early on about fine wine while playing in the Houston Grand Opera Orchestra.  Trading one passion for another, the study of wine eventually led him to Bern’s Steak House and its unparalleled wine cellar, where spent eight years, six of those as a Sommelier.  At Bern's, Trey assisted in managing one of the world’s greatest wine collections, with over 500,000 bottles in inventory.

Several years ago, Trey was recruited to work with the Spire Collection, of Jackson Family Wines, and today is proud to represent a portfolio of very rare, estate grown French, Italian and Californian fine wines.

Trey has traveled extensively on educational trips through California, Washington State, Italy and France, and continues to keep abreast of the constantly evolving world of wine.  Having attained his Advanced Certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers, he has been invited to sit the Master Sommelier Exam, the highest standard of excellence in the wine profession.
