With so many friends and supporters to boast about, we are especially excited to have Alycia Mondavi of C. Mondavi & Family joining us this fall for the Inaugural Harvest Food and Wine Festival in efforts to fundraise for our 15 local children’s charity beneficiaries.

Mondavi has become a household name since the Napa family began operating in 1943. One of four sisters, she was introduced to the family business at a very early age. Receiving her first paycheck at age 10, she worked as an apprentice filling in wherever the winery needed her from the hospitality center to the lab.

She graduated from the University of San Diego in 2007 with degrees in Marketing and Management. Earning her paralegal certificate in 2008, she worked at a law firm in Napa Valley for four years post graduation. She also acted as an assistant marketing consultant for many ultra-premium wines. The combination of her knowledge for advertising laws, grape contracts, and wine brands allowed her to thrive and return to the family business in 2012. Alongside her sister Riana, Alycia joined C. Mondavi & Family managing Aloft, a Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon made by Thomas Brown.

Like many entrepreneurial spirits, Alycia simultaneously managed Dark Matter Wines, which she co-owns with her three sisters. She oversees marketing and customer relations for the Zinfandel and the Limitless Cabernet Sauvignon. First released in 2011 with their 2006 Zinfandel, Dark Matter Wines is a collaboration of these fourth generation Mondavis.

The great-grandparents, Cesare and Rosa Mondavi purchased the Charles Krug Winery shortly after prohibition’s end. Their “passion, determination, and vision that began to shape Napa Valley as one of California’s premium wine regions.” Their grandparents, Peter Sr. and Blanche began to operate the business in 1966. Peter Sr. introduced new and revolutionary winemaking techniques for the time that have since been continued such as cold fermentation, cold sterile filtration and aging wine in French oak barrels. Peter Sr. is now over 100 and still works closely with the family to continue the legacy.

Alycia will be pouring many of the high-end wines from her family’s portfolio throughout the Harvest Wine & Food Festival weekend.

Stay tuned for the release of more participants for this fine fall festival!
