We are still Seeing Red

Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation had a very busy but successful Seeing Red Wine Weekend. Celebrating its silver anniversary, the SEASIDE® Seeing Red Wine Festival™ Saturday Grand Tasting sold out two months before the actual event and Friday’s Al Fresco Tasting sold out the week of. Guests got to enjoy over 275 wines, and farm-to-fork, gulf-to-table small plates from local restaurants throughout the entire weekend. Patrons traveled from all over the United States to enjoy the white sand beaches of South Walton. Wine was represented from all over the globe. Some of those in attendance were Mary Joli from Williamette Valley Vineyards in Oregon, Dave Guffy, the Director of Winemaking with Hess Family Wines, Erik Miller, Winemaker of Kokomo and the Seaside Wine Project, as well as Pablo Cuneo all the way from Argentina representing Ruca Malen. It was such an eventful weekend. The rain didn’t stop us from continuing the wine festivities on Sunday at our Fall Walkabout and Charity Wine Auction. After moving the event indoors it couldn’t have turned out better. With over 250 patrons in attendance, we raised over $35,000 at the auction alone on Sunday, and Continuum entertained us all with live music.

After such a successful weekend and our first big event of the year coming to a close, we would like to thank all involved for three days of hard work to produce an amazing event in support of our mission. Our charities provided all of the volunteers for all three days and they did an outstanding job! All of the donations from the local restaurants donating not only food, but also auction items was a great pair with all of the wines donated from the distributors and suppliers. Our sponsors, SEASIDE®, and staff worked around the clock to set up tents, facilitate the retail tent, design fabulous merchandise. And of course our donors who time after time support us in so many ways, from attending our events and purchasing tickets to donating auction items, donating your time, and even becoming annual sponsors.
