Fall Events In Review

Seeing Red Wine Festival
The 24th Annual Seaside Seeing Red Wine Festival took place on November 7 & 8. Both the Al Fresco Reserve Tasting and Grand Tasting events were completely sold out, featuring wines from  Boisset Collection Kokomo Winery Fisher Vineyards Willamette Valley Vineyards Ramey Wine Cellars , Hess Collection Roy Estates , and many more. New to the festival this year were craft beer & spirits, such as  Grayton Beer Co. Cigar City Brewing , and  High West Distillery . With the help of the Seaside Arts & Entertainment Council, local restaurants, winemakers, volunteers, and many others this year's festival was a huge success. The weekend raised over $130,000 for Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation and our beneficiary charities. We look forward to another successful event for the 25th Annual Seeing Red Wine Festival. Be sure to get your tickets early!
Fun Fact:
With ticket holders coming from all over the U.S., representing more than 28 states, the area most represented at the festival was Georgia.

Fall Walkabout & Charity Auction
Following the Seeing Red Wine Festival, was our Sunday Fall Walkabout & Charity Auction at the Hilton Sandestin. With 50 Silent Auction Bid items, one special Live Auction experience from Kokomo Winery, and over 300 attendees, we were able to raise almost $30,000. It was a beautiful day, with a fabulous selection of wines to taste, the famous Bloody Mary bar, and  Angel's Envy Bourbon . Nine local restaurants came out and provided delectable hors d'oeuvres. This event is always a locals favorite, and filled with so many of Destin Charity Wine Auction's generous supporters.
Fun Fact:
Top selling Auction items were the Old World/New World Dinner for $4,000, and the Kokomo Winer y WineMaker's Dinner for $2,000. Also selling for $2,000 was a private catered dinner for 12 by  Michelle's Kitchen

What We Are Drinking Now:

Winter is coming, it's time for robust reds. Mark Perrin's CHÂTEAU DE BEAUCASTEL CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE ROUGE 2012 is "nearly black in color. The nose is very delicate and powerful at the same time, with red fruit, blackcurrants, blackberries, spices, thyme and lavender.  The bouquet is very elegant, rich and round, with figs, cherries, blackcurrants and stewed fruit, all with great acidity. The tannins are present but very delicate."  Find out more here

More Good News:

Among our many special guests and celebrity Vintners attending the 10th annual auction, is Mark Perrin of Chateau de Beaucastel.  View all Patron Dinner Pairings Here
